To find the will of God for your life, one simply MUST be a student of the bible, the Word of God. I Cor. 2:11 says “What person perceives (knows and understands) what passes through a man’s thoughts except the man’s own spirit within him? Just so, no one discerns (comes to know and comprehend) the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.” (Amplified Bible) Studying the scriptures and prayer leads one to understand the will of God, as far as right living is concerned.  A person also needs to be filled with the Holy Spirit. If you have the Spirit of God living within you, you will hear Him!

I love all of the New Testament letters of Paul and of Peter and James. These letters convey the will of God about our attitudes and how to live this Christian life. They are simple and I think that is why I love them so much. They simply tell one how to live and live well. And to live pleasing to God. They say, “Do this.”

There are other life decisions that are more difficult to ascertain such as, who do I marry, where should I live, etc. These are things that cannot be found directly in the scriptures. However, I am a firm believer that if one is living in a way that is pleasing to God scripturally, He will lead and guide you into His good plan in these areas. You will hear Him speak in your heart. You will find peace when you make a decision or, if it is not the right decision, you will have no peace about it.
