And I can prove it.

We see this in the Bible starting from the very beginning. In Genesis, after God made the creation, He made the garden of Eden, the place where He would place His newly created species, Adam and Eve, the first couple. They were to till the garden and keep it, Adam named the animals. The animals and mankind were to “be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.” Genesis 1-3. And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.” 1 Corinthians 15:45. 

After creating all the elements of space, separating the land from the waters, assigning the sun and moon their place, calling forth the animals, the birds, the sea creatures, the trees with their seeds and all of the creation elements, He made man and woman, then set them in the Garden to take care of it.

The Garden was perfect. Everything they needed was there, all the provision for their needs was there. God had thought of everything. It was the reflection of where God lived. And He walked and talked with them openly in the Garden of perfection. There was nothing between Him and them, until one day…

The tempter came and fooled Eve. He deceived her. 1 Timothy 2:14. Then Adam disobeyed the one command that God has given him to not do. In that one act of disobedience, God and His plan were rejected by Man. God was essentially locked out of the planet. Even the creation was affected. It also came under the curse. Mankind had been made in God’s image and created in order to have fellowship with God…but now they had lost that relationship and hid from their Creator. He could no longer work with them in a cooperative agreement to rule the planet. Because Adam had submitted himself to the evil spirit Satan, he lost his authority over the planet. God had to find a way to get His created Man back into fellowship. The plan had already been made.

God started to work with certain men in the earth who would listen to Him. He made covenants or agreements with them. He said if you will do this, I will do that. It was a partnership and it was a way for God to get things done in the earth. He had to work through men because men had the legal authority in the earth because they were born there. Eventually He built a nation of people and gave them His requirements, His laws (at Mount Sinai). If they would practice these things, it would shelter them from the works of the evil one, the god of the world. 

He instituted a way so that He could dwell among them. The tabernacle in the wilderness was the initial solution…a huge tent with everything set up to protect them from being harmed by His holiness. The tent was packed up every time they moved and set up again in a new place. They took the presence of God with them. Sacrifices were made for the sins of the people, to cover their sins. After the tent, there would be temples built of stone to perform the sacrifices. This was a foreshadowing and picture of the work that Jesus would do by eventually being born into the earth. He would come as the Son of Man, and reveal heaven and the great love of the Father for mankind. Then He would choose to die for His creation as payment for all of their sins. This sacrifice and Jesus’s subsequent resurrection paved the way for the Spirit of Jesus to come and live in the hearts of men on Pentecost. Now believers are the temple of God. Now He dwells inside them!

In the book of Revelations, we see the kingdom of God coming to dwell in the earth. This is revealed in the picture of the New Jerusalem coming to the earth in Revelation 21. This comes after the devil and his demons are dealt with. THAT is the intention and plan of God. He always PLANNED to dwell in the earth. Mankind is His family.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:5 “The meek shall inherit the earth,” but there are other references to this idea in the Old Testament. Psalm 37:11, 29. The AMPC bible also states, “The meek (in the end) shall inherit the earth.” This points to God’s kingdom coming to the earth where the people that belong to Him (the meek) will rule with Him.
