The Bible admonishes the human race to “get wisdom” and understanding. Are you a seeker of wisdom? You ought to be. It’s important…and God has plenty He wishes to impart to you. But we must study His word, the bible, to get that wisdom.

Proverbs 4:7 says“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.” Love wisdom and she will keep you. That means having wisdom will guard and protect you. It will give you understanding. It will light the path you are meant to walk on, the path God has for you.

“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” John 1:1-5. This refers to Jesus.

• John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
• John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”
• John 17:5 Jesus speaks of “…the glory which I had with You before the world was.”
• 2 Cor. 4:4…speaking of the gospel message, “...it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.“
• Col 1:15-16 speaking of Jesus,”He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.“
• Col. 1:17 “And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.” (speaking of Jesus.)
• 1 John 5:20 “And we know that the Son of God has come and has give us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.“
• Rev. 19:13 “He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.“

“Let US make man in OUR image.”(emphasis mine) from Genesis 1:26, Jesus was in the beginning with God. God was in the beginning. The Father God, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit…all three are God, and all three were there in the beginning. Genesis 1:2 says the Spirit was brooding on the face of the waters.

“All things were made through Him (Jesus) and without Him nothing was made that was made.” John 1:3

• Ps. 33:6 “By the word of the Lord, the heavens were made…”
• Eph. 3:9 “..the mystery…which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God Who created all things through Jesus Christ.“
• Col 1:16, 17 “For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.”
• Heb. 1:2 God…“has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds.”
• Heb. 11:3 “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.“
• 2 Peter 3:5 “…that by the word of God the heavens were of old…

Without the Spirit of God, unregenerate men live in darkness and in the “futility of their minds.” Ephesians 4:17. But when one submits to the lordship of Jesus Christ, the “lights” come on, and men gain the ability to see and understand truth. They come out of the darkness that clouds their thinking. Until then, the things of God are foolishness to unregenerate men. Natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God. He can’t understand them.

1 John 5:11 says “In Him was life, and the life (John 8:12, John 9:5, John 12:46) was the light of men.“

“And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend (or overcome) it.” John 3:19

Genesis 1 “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Many Old Testament scriptures, written by inspired men at different times in history, concur with the Genesis 1 account.

• Psalm 102:25 “Of old You laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands.“
• Psalm 8:3 “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained,“
• Psalm 89:11 “The heavens are yours, the earth also is Yours; the world and all its fullness, You have founded them.“
• Psalm 90:2 “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.“
• Is. 44:24 “Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb: I am the Lord, Who makes all things, Who stretches out the heavens all alone, Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself;“
• Rev. 4;11 “You are worthy, O Lord to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.”

“In the beginning…”the earth was without form and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep.” Genesis 1:2

• Jer. 4:23 I beheld the earth, and indeed it was without form and void; and the heavens, they had no light.

“And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” Genesis 1:2

• Psalm 33:6 “By the Word of the Lord the heavens were made, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.“

The Creation story is not just a story. This is reality. This is what really happened in our past. This is the truth of HiStory of humanity.
