Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.“
So how are we to know that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him? Well, one must first accept that the Bible is the inspired, written word of God and that that Book is where we find the answers to these questions. The Bible is full of God‘s promises to mankind. It is His love letter to His people, explaining the mysteries of the universe and of life. It defines His existence (and ours), and His character.
To know the personality of God and the love of God, we must apply ourselves to knowing Him by reading His words in the Book. Through prayer and bible study, we can have fellowship with Him and come to know Him on a personal level. He is our friend, not an enemy. He is for us, not against us.
Many years ago before I was born again, I believed that God could heal my body of a certain defect, but I didn’t know if He would, or if He wanted to. I didn’t know His character or His love for me. Once I was saved, filled with the Holy Spirit, and began studying His word, I became convinced that He would, that He wanted to, and that He had already provided healing for my body through His covenant. Since then, I have seen many physical healings in my body. The New Testament records that Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil. Healing is one of the benefits God has always provided to His redeemed people. Even Old Testament scriptures attest to that.
Lets look at another related testimony from the scriptures, Matthew 8:2 says, “And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if you are willing, You can make me clean.” In Matthew 8:3, we see Jesus’s response. “Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, ‘I am willing; be cleansed.’ Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.“
The leper believed Jesus could heal him. Then He found out Jesus wanted to heal him. This miracle demonstrates the love of God and the desire of God for people.
Many times when Jesus healed people, He would say to them, “Your faith (or substance, the most important or essential part) has made you well.” You cannot have faith unless you know the will of God, and you cannot know the will of God unless you study what He has to say on the matter. Once you become convinced of His will, faith comes. Assurance comes. Confidence comes and prayers are answered. Praise the Lord! Trust Him today!
